A FEW IDEAS TO START WITH
GAME DESIGNFIELD NOTE 01

What makes a world
worth getting lost in?

Not the size of the map. The small details that invite us to slow down, look closer and make a place our own.

HARDWAREFIELD NOTE 02

Better play starts
with the right questions.

Before the next upgrade, ask what actually gets in the way. A thoughtful setup is more than a list of specifications.

Sometimes, the best
button is pause.

There is no need to finish everything. A little distance can bring back the curiosity that made us pick up a controller.

OUR POINT OF VIEW

Less chasing the next thing.
More understanding why it matters.

We’re building a space for considered stories about games and technology. Curious by default. Critical when it counts. Always here for the love of play.

01

GAME DESIGN / FIELD NOTE

A world is more than a map.

A convincing game world has a rhythm: a familiar sound around a corner, a shortcut you discover yourself, a quiet place with no objective attached. These details give exploration meaning beyond the next marker.

That is the question we want to return to: not how much a game contains, but how carefully its parts fit together.

02

HARDWARE / FIELD NOTE

Start with the experience.

A responsive display, a comfortable chair or a quieter machine can matter more than a bigger number on a box. The right upgrade starts with noticing what interrupts your own experience.

Our approach to hardware is simple: explain the trade-offs, separate specifications from everyday use, and leave room for different priorities.

03

PLAY CULTURE / FIELD NOTE

Make room for curiosity.

A library is not a to-do list. Returning to an old favourite, trying something unfamiliar or taking a break are all part of a healthy relationship with a hobby.

We want this journal to offer that same freedom: a place to discover an idea, not another feed to keep up with.

HELLO, WE’RE GAME IT JOURNAL.

A small beginning.
A wider view.

Game IT Journal is a new editorial project at gameitjournal.com, focused on the intersection of games, technology and everyday play.

This launch edition introduces our direction. More stories and publication details will follow as the journal develops.
